The Wandering Wolf
The following is a procession of various wolf-related things, noted popular culture, portions of history and points of interest. I’ve discovered that some tend to find the wolf romantic, even hailed, highly praised in verse of poems and in stories of legend. There are travellers who use the emblem to describe some inner searching, the driving force to find a better place, somewhere over the horizon. People wear them as icons, using them as an insignia or banner for their battles.
People who take on the identity of a ‘lone-wolf’ either by being an outcast, displaced from a larger group, or in their independance from conventional thought are particularlly interesting to me. Books have been written that describe the unyielding nature of those who make extraoridnary efforts, to accomplish what others could only dream of, those who’ve survived the unbelievable, to stand alone and untouched. These I’ve noted also, and taken great interest in exploring from the world wide wilderness of the internet.
There are stories behind each of the images, colourful accounts, as well as a rich background which adds meaning to single life; some of the “wolves” in our world are also pioneers and explorers. Often times a more sinister attribute is assigned to wolf-like things. However, the true balance in nature is often best described by the forest’s greatest sentinel.
